Broadway Project is the
work of Daniel Berridge and his network of fellow musicians. The project
has released two albums (Compassion in 2001 and the initial
UK release of The Vessel in
2003) and numerous EP's on London based Memphis Industries (home of
The Go! Team, Blue States), to critical acclaim. Released for the
first time in the US on April 12th, 2005, and completely remastered
featuring four new tracks, The
Vessel mark's the first stateside release for this skilled
musician since 2001's Compassion (ESL
Music). The live band is made up of some of the best young jazz
musicians in the UK, including the Perrier winning Matt Bourne on
Rhodes/Piano and Riann Vosloo on Double Bass.
As well as being a recording
artist, Dan is involved in producing music for film and television having
completed commissions for Channel 4 and the BBC among others. Dan's
music has been critically lauded and has been described as genius, chilling,
life-affirming, cinematic, epic and ethereal.
"My music is inspired
by a love of the avant-garde, breaks, and cinema aesthetic. In whatever
I do, the common theme that I try to get across is that of the passion
and beauty of life. My sound is also particularly affected by the
mood and intensity of Eastern European jazz and classical music of
the 60's and 70's. There is a certain austere but passionate sound
to the music of this time that has marked what I do. Combine this
with the heavy crack of modern hip-hop cut and paste production techniques
and you are starting to get close to the sound."
